Good afternoon, Oglala Lakota County School District, parents, students, and staff. This is Connie Kaltenbach, Superintendent, with an important safety update.
This afternoon, one of our Wolf Creek School vehicles experienced an incident while returning from a student drop-off. The driver detected smoke in the vehicle, immediately pulled over, and safely exited before the vehicle caught fire. I want to emphasize that no students were on board at the time, and our driver is safe and unharmed.
Authorities will investigate the cause of the fire.
